A little different from our usual fare, this week's eatery, Brio - Tuscan Grille, is part of a very large chain with locations in over 35 states. We chose the City Place site in WPB. This Brio is large but still relatively intimate, lighting is low but not dark, the open kitchen busy but not a distraction. So far, so good.
Joining the Sisters this week was our lovely 'home-from-college' daughter/niece, giving us the opportunity to try additional menu selections. This is always appreciated! Our starter of Crab & Shrimp Fonduta was very good, with a side of parmesan crisps; but it's thin consistency might be better served with a hardier type 'dipper'. Maybe slices of the very good table bread?....Three entrees ordered this night, and each got rave reviews. Tuscan Grilled Pork Chops, Roasted Lamb Chops (a full rack) and Artichoke Crusted Beef Medallions (three 2 oz. tornedos). All with an accompaniment of assorted flavorful vegetables; and mashed potatoes that were o.k., but seemed to lose something once they cooled.
The service, and the server, Jordan, was excellent. Even while training new employees, and keeping watch over a busy station, he still managed to be very attentive.
The Last Word: a small sample-sized chocolate dessert was fun, and our lovely 'home-from-college' daughter/niece claimed that the Creme Brulee was the best thing ever. It's possible. After finishing just about everything on the table, it's also possible she hasn't had a decent meal in a month.
