It's August and things are almost back to normal for the Cibo Sisters. After a very busy summer, so far, a pause from dining out seems to be our inclination (for this week, anyway). But it has been grand! What started out as a chance for the Sisters to enjoy some 'together' time, now has the added benefit of an eating adventure. So many times we order the same thing - and I understand having a 'favorite' at a restaurant - but to fall into a pattern of grilled chicken or the pasta dish in every establishment, seems a wasted experience.
The Sister's palates have expanded tremendously over the last year or so. Sometimes there are mistakes, the crabcake that was more bread than crab or the $32 (!) roast chicken. While food is the most important thing, next to being together, other things matter, too - service, atmosphere, presentation, quality/quantity, etc. Nobody wants a server that disappears or hurries or a plate with 3oz of beef and an asparagus. But we are always happier at the end of the meal than at the start. We hope to have varied taste sensations weekly, which we will be passing on.
South Florida is our home base, local to the Gold Coast, but occasionally we will venture out. Please feel free to e-mail us at cibosisters@gmail.com: questions, comments and suggestions are always, always looked forward to. Till next time.......
