Joseph's Wine Bar & Cafe - Delray Beach

'It was a dark and stormy night' when the Sisters reached Joseph's Wine Bar & Cafe, so we had our choice of table and all the attention we could want. This cozy cafe with the enormous wine rack was a welcome retreat from the uncharacteristically foul South Florida weather.

We started with the Hummus Platter, served with crispy pita, tomatoes, peppers, olives and olive oil.  This was o.k., but better things were to come. Soup seemed a good choice for the evening, and the Lobster Bisque, rich and creamy, with tiny, tiny bits of lobster really hit the spot. The first entree,  Nut Crusted Salmon, was a gem.  Well cooked with a coat of walnuts, garlic and coconut flakes, swimming in a light caper sauce. That hint of 'sweet' was so good........And the second entree was even better! Called Chicken Baldasan (what the city in Croatia has to do with it, I don't know), the baked, boneless breast of chicken was topped with Swiss Cheese and prociutto then a drizzle of balsamic; the flavors together were a treat. The side of marinated heirloom tomato added something special to an already excellent dish.

The reason 'people' say this is a good place to eat.....because it is!

The Last Word: The Sisters shared a slice of Limoncello Cake. It was silky smooth, and if I were to guess, I would say it's the best of the offerings. De-lish!
