Pistache - West Palm Beach

Located at the end of Clematis Street, it's the ideal spot for a 'walk-around'....Before dinner, a chance to do a little shopping, after dinner a night cap on the Avenue or a romantic hand-in-hand stroll on the waterfront.

But dinner was our goal this evening, and we weren't disappointed. With seating inside or out, on this chilly night the Sisters chose inside.  The Onion Soup Gratinee the first choice for one Sister and a good one it was.  Lots of gruyere cheese then baked to deliciousness. The other Sister ordered the Choizo Sausage Plate from the 'Bistro Plates' section of the menu. Not as spicy as anticipated but served with panache! A rectangle of slate (!) with a dollop of applesauce, teeny tiny Gherkins, candied walnuts and a few slices of toasted baguette. Fun! Next the Sisters picked from the 'Small Plates' section. The Forest Mushroom Risotto was very good, with a hint of sage but too much squash; the Gnocchi Parisienne was more interesting with exciting ingredients like rabbit and pistachio pesto. A sided order of asparagus and the Sisters were done.

Nice restaurant, great menu, good service and a super location.  The Sisters think this is a winner.

The Last Word: Molten Chocolate Cake, served with whipped cream and too little ice cream. Nice, but skimping on the ice cream is a no-no.
