Ta-boo - Palm Beach

The Sisters' first outing of the New Year was a winner. This American Bistro, located on Worth Avenue (!), is a jumping local bar and restaurant.  Even at 6pm the bar had nary a seat left and the tables were filling up fast. Reservations are suggested, and I think this older, well-dressed crowd takes this advice.

Seated in the corner by the fireplace, it was ideal for the rainy weather.  Also ideal was the menu.  Starting out with the very tasty and eye-catching Crabstack, the Sisters feasted on a lump meat crabcake served on top a winning greens bed but under a fresh tasting avocado salsa. An excellent start!.... The first entree of Sweet Potato Crusted Grouper was a 'small plate' and to tell the truth, there wasn't anything small about it. With a generous portion of grouper covered in crunchy potato over a few tender asparagus, this seemed just right. Our second entree of Linguine w/Crab Parmesan with pasta cooked as it should be and plenty of extra large pieces of crab in a light sauce of cheese and lemon, it was a good continuation of a very satisfying dining experience.

Ta-boo has been around since 1941(!). The location is exceptional, the food is dreamy and the price isn't out of line. The Sisters can see how this eatery has lasted when so many others come and go.

The Last Word: omg! It's called Ta-boo Lust and it is sinful. The house version of banana cream pie, this is not to be missed!
